9 Step Process To Achieve Your Fitness Goals

Any endeavor in life will not materialize unless it meets all the rules of setting and achieving goals. goal setting essentially
provides a direction so that efforts and resources be directed towards achievement of the same. Besides this, goal setting also helps prioritizing the thing in the order of their importance. Having a crystal clear goal in mind improves your chances of actually achieving it.

Many of us have "want" of becoming fit. We read about fitness, go to gyms, watch our diets, talk about it every time we get an opportunity. We also get some results based on what we are doing. But it is far less than what we want. Sounds familiar? This happens when there are no clearly defined targets.
Have you given your fitness enough priority so that  you are doing what is necessary to be in a great shape? If not then what you need is setting some compelling goals and devising action plan to execute these plans.
The Goal Setting Process
  1. The first step is to decide what you want to achieve. What it is that you want? Is it bigger muscles or narrower waist? Decide what you want.
  2. The goal should be achievable and realistic. If it seems impossible to achieve then you will not be compelled enough to take action.
  3. The next step is to see where you are now. Say you want to have 32 inches waist but now it is 37 inches. So, you have 5 inches to be removed.
  4. Now set a definite date for achieving this target. Do not set a deadline like 2 months. It is impossible to do that.
  5. Divide your goal into small sub goals. Now that you know that 5 inches have to be removed from your waist, you can go for an inch every month. That way you will have a five month target to achieve the desired results.
  6. Now depending upon the desired result, devise an action plan that will take you from where you are to where you want to go.
  7. Review your progress every 15 days so that you know what is working for you. Be flexible enough to drop what isn't working.
  8. Hang out with some like minded people who are targeting similar goals. This is where joining a gym or health club can be very helpful. You get be with people who are just like you. This can act as a constant source of encouragement.
  9. Last but not the least, believe in your self that it can be done. And it will be. When you are putting in efforts, all you need is a little focus and perseverance. Everything else will fall in place.
Before we close, here is a small piece of advice. If you do not meet any sub goal, don't lose heart. the idea is to continue putting in efforts so that you eventually achieve what you desired. For example, if it takes 6 months instead of 5, would you be happy? I can bet, you will be more than happy!
